All you have to do is pack your swimming gear and get ready to get wet. No matter what your age, you are sure to have a great time and there are rides and attractions for every age and level of thrill rides you may desire. Let’s take a look at five of the most amazing water parks that are located within the Orlando area.
1534 Blizzard Beach Drive, Orlando, FL 32836
Getting wet has never been more exciting than Blizzard Beach. This incredible waterpark is a really wacky concept in the fact that it was once a ski resort. This seems like a crazy thing to build in Florida, but the fact is that someone actually built it and instead of people being able to ski, the snow melted and it became a water wonderland. However, some of the elements of the ski resort still remain that’s why you get the perfect combination of what used to be a ski resort and some of the best times you’ll have in Orlando. For example, you’ll notice that you are surrounded by snowcapped mountains as you take a water slide and end up in a wonderfully warm, white sand beach. There are plenty of beaches for relaxing and they offer incredible views of what used to be a ski resort. The waters are incredibly warm because all of the snow and ice that you see is just an illusion. Mount Gushmore can lay claim to some of the world’s tallest and fastest water slides that you have ever encountered, and there are lots of other rides for those that do not seek those kind of thrills. This is simply a treat for the whole family.
6000 Discovery Cove Way, Orlando, FL 32821
Visiting Discovery Cove is an experience like no other, providing you with the opportunity to enjoy some of the bucket list items that you have never thought you would be able to complete. This theme park is simply amazing, including things like swimming with dolphins. It can easily be rivaled with SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica Orlando, two of the most incredible places to visit and all of Orlando. Hanging out with the wildlife is not just something that you might be able to do at Discovery Cove, it is what the theme park is all about. The nice thing about this park is that it is located directly across from the SeaWorld Orlando location. The Dolphin Lagoon is located right in the center of the park and so you will be able to both swim with the dolphins and be able to visit the wondrous exhibits at SeaWorld Orlando if you want. Discovery Cove is truly one of the kind and you will find all of the aquatic exhibits that you have always wanted to see there, as well as plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with the animals. Typhoon Lagoon is one of the best places to visit in Orlando. There is so much to do that you will never lack for some attraction to check out. Typhoon Lagoon has more than 10 water slides including a really great two-person roller coaster with huge drops which make you feel as if you are out to see in the middle of a storm – which is the entire purpose of naming the park as it is. But do not think that these are the only attractions that exist that Typhoon Lagoon. The truth is, you can find attractions for the entire family here, including water slide rides for the little kids that are not nearly as scary and will still let them have a great time. This is a Disney attraction, so you are going to find lots of Disney stuff around the park. But this is also a park that is meant to give you the greatest thrills, so you will find incredible water slides, a huge surf pool that can generate six foot swells from underwater turbines, the ability to jump in and swim with the sharks at the shark reef and much more. This is just one of two of the incredible water parks that are located in the Walt Disney World in Orlando. There is lots of variety, as well as education about various types of sea life in the park and it is open seven days a week starting at 10:00 AM and closing at 5:00 PM. You can get day passes for around $60 a person, or you can get a package with your Walt Disney World pass that will allow you to experience the park in all of its glory for a little less.
SeaWorld Orlando has plenty to offer, but Aquatica is something truly special. If you have not been to SeaWorld Orlando, then you’re missing out on one of the most amazing attractions in all of the country. Whether you go to the park in San Diego or you go to the one in Orlando, you’re going to go away with the sense that you have communed with some of the greatest, most intelligent creatures in the world. Just attending a show with the so-called killer whales will bring tears to your eyes. You will understand a great deal more about life under the sea when you attend exhibits located at either one of these parks. But there is definitely something special about the waterpark located within SeaWorld Orlando. Aquatica is a place like no other. You are going to find attractions that not only allow you to have fun, but also allow you to get to know the animals that are within the park.
